Bolu Semangka-Watermelon Sponge Cake

Untuk 24 iris semangka
Bahan:
- 200 gr gula pasir
- 200 gr tepung terigu protein rendah, jemur lalu ayak
- 6 butir telur
- 80 ml susu skim (atau bisa menggunakan santan)
- 50 ml minyak sayur (atau minyak goreng biasa)
- 30 ml cake softener (10% berat telur)
- 1 sdt emulsifier (TBM, ovalet, quick, dll)
- 1/2 sdt garam
- meises coklat untuk adonan merah (isi semangka)
- kocok telur, gula, emulsifier, dan garam dengan mixer hingga bewarna putih pucat dan kaku (ditengah mengocok, tambahkan cake softener).

- tambahkan tepung terigu, aduk perlahan menggunakan spatula kayu
- tambahkan susu dan minyak, campur rata
- panaskan pengukus dan olesi loyang segitiga dengan mentega serta ditaburi tepun terigu

- bagi adonan menjadi tiga: merah sebagai daging buah semangka, beri meises coklat dan aduk rata; kuning muda; dan hijau sebagai kulit semangka (proporsikan jumlahnya, merah paling banyak, lalu kuning, dan hijau paling sedikit)
- kukus adonan merah selama 10 menit
- masukkan adonan kuning, kukus selama 10 menit
- masukkan adonan hijau
- kukus bolu selama kurang lebih 25 menit
- keluarkan dari loyang, sajikan

The recipe used is actually a common sponge cake recipe. But I use a triangle-shaped baking pan that produces triangular shapes like watermelon sliced and ready to eat. Here’s the recipe:
For 24 slices of watermelon
Ingredients:
- 200 gr sugar
- 200 g low protein flour, drying and sieve
- 6 eggs
- 80 ml of skim milk (or can use coconut milk)
- 50 ml vegetable oil (or regular cooking oil)
- 30 ml cake softener (10% by weight of eggs)
- 1 tsp emulsifier (TBM, ovalet, quick, etc.)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- chocolate sprinkles for red batter (as watermelon seed)
- whisk eggs, sugar, emulsifiers, and salt with a mixer until stiff and white-pale colored (in the middle whisking, add cake softener).

- add flour, stirring gently using a wooden spatula
- add milk and oil, mix well
- preheat steamer pan and spread the triangle-pan with butter and sprinkled with flour

- divide the dough into three: the red as pulp of watermelon, put in chocolate sprinkles and stir well; pale yellow, and green as the peel of a watermelon (get the right amount, most is red, then yellow, and green as the least)
- Steamed red dough for 10 minutes
- Put in the yellow dough, steamed for 10 minutes
- Put in the green dough
- steamed all the dough for approximately 25 minutes
- put out from pan and serve
